Opal is October’s birthstone and is said to be a great healing gemstone and good at improving communication and self confidence.  The colours are to represent the sunlight sparking on the the ocean surface.  There’s a couple of areas on the Opal where you can still see the rock it was embedded in - i love the rawness of this look! 
The spiral shell is often called ‘shiva’s eye’ and is regarded as a very important symbol especially in India.
