The sharks tooth in no way supports the shark trade.  The cast was taken from fossilised tooth millions of years old to ensure no modern day shark byproducts were used.  A mould is made from the ancient tooth and then molten silver is poured into the mould and finally its coated in a thick layer of 18k gold.

Our gold vermeil designs are made with 18k solid gold (of at least 2.5 microns) carefully layered on top of 925 sterling silver. The finish is five times thicker than average gold plating, and much more long lasting.
